Leaves Falling & Learning Abounds
If you have stopped by the office recently, you’ve seen that we are ready for fall and Halloween. Sarrah did a great job decorating the office and getting us into the fall spirit, and now the weather is cooperating too. Chelsea claims we can credit her rain dances for the rain and cooperating weather.
I recently returned from the 2026 Wealth Counsel Symposium in Las Vegas, which is a gathering of attorneys similar to me that specialize in business law, estate planning and trust and probate administration issues. It is a four-day intensive, where nationally recognized speakers provide an intense level of continuing education. I describe it as the mental equivalent of drinking from a fire house. The sessions I chose are heavy on tax and asset protection. I did a day focused on Business law, Business succession planning and transferring business interests to revocable and irrevocable trusts.
My second day was focused on trusts and tax planning. Day three, I focused on international assets and expatriates, the intersection of divorce and family law with estate planning and additional tax planning for large estates. Day four focused on retirement assets. I plan to write an article on that topic, as there was some really good practical information to share with you.
I also met with different trustees from Nevada and Delaware, specialized appraisers and many other service providers relevant to our practice. I met several excellent attorneys from around the country who could be valuable referral partners. We receive referrals from – and make referrals to – attorneys in other areas of the country several times each month. This network of service providers and attorneys is important in supporting our clients wherever they may have assets or legal needs.
I’ll share some of what I learned through articles and other updates over the next several months. I promise not to make you feel as though you are drinking from a fire house; I’ll keep it practical, not highly technical as it was for me. All of us at Tritch Buonocore Law attend classes and educational events so we can continue learning, improve our craft and enhance the services we provide. We embrace technology and knowledge. However, we may remain committed to providing a personalized service by a small team of caring individuals.
Ultimately, everything we learn is most valuable when we can put it to work for you. We look forward to sharing practical insights from these educational experiences while continuing to provide the thoughtful, personalized, and specialized legal guidance you expect from our team.
