September 2025 Margaret’s Notes

September 2025 Margaret’s Notes
September 2025 Margaret’s Notes

I am just returning from our family trip to Central Pennsylvania where we celebrated my grandmother, Mary Ruth Tritch’s 100th birthday. She wasn’t sure how she would do, but she was a trooper with a community gathering in her Church’s fellowship hall on Sunday and then a family gathering on Labor Day. Mary was blessed to celebrate with all four of her children, 6 of her 8 grandchildren and all 6 of her great grandchildren in her home of over 50 years.  It was a special gathering and amazing to see all of us who would not be here without Mary Tritch.

In celebrating and caring for our families through the generations, I also want to take this opportunity to share with you a unique opportunity for our clients. Any client who has young adults with no estate planning can participate. We are providing a group planning session for 8 young adults to create a basic estate plan for the discounted price of $1,000 or $750 for our current Legacy Care Program members. (This is half of what we normally charge.)

September 2025 Margaret’s NotesAs you may know, I have two young adult children; and I also have several clients with young adults. Recently our family and client families have been discussing with me how to provide a basic Will plan and powers of attorney at an affordable price. This would include a Health Care Power of Attorney, Financial Power of Attorney, Living Will (end of life decisions), Last Will and Testament and Final Disposition Instructions. In short, affording them a basic, yet comprehensive set of protections, should an unexpected accident or illness befall them. It enables us parents or grandparents to still step in and support our young adult family members, now that the law says they are adults. Once they turn 18, we as parents no longer have any authority should a tragedy occur. Try speaking to the dentist or pediatrician after they turn 18 and realize how frustrating that can be. Equally important, your young adult may not know what they want, as the options have never been explained to them. Never mind us parents having any idea of what they want!

The group planning will consist of 8 young adults (under 25 years of age). We currently have 5 spots available for Wednesday, November 26th  (before Thanksgiving) in our office. Spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. If this is something that continues to be of interest to our clients, we will do it again at the end of the year or in the summertime.  This service is being offered to existing clients only and as an additional service to support our families as they mature and evolve.  If you would like to add a family member to the group, please contact our office on 480-525 6244 or email me.

And may you too be so fortunate as to have a family member celebrate 100 years of life.
